Condemnation
 |
|
Condemnation, also called eminent domain,
is the right of governmental bodies and certain private companies
to acquire private property from an unwilling owner. The primary
legal issues involved are whether the condemning authority
has the right to “take” the property and the amount
of compensation payable for the property taken. Condemnation
is a field of law requiring specialized counsel.

Darling, Bergstrom & Milligan specializes in
all aspects of condemnation law and has extensive experience representing
both landowners and condemning authorities. It has defended private
landowners in recent matters involving complicated appraisal issues,
resulting in the recovery, by the landowner, of several million
dollars. We address both the “taking” and the valuation
issues involved in a typical condemnation case, providing our clients
with support and counsel through the proceedings.
