Joan Burleson has over twenty years legal experience,
ranging from real estate, litigation and intellectual property to
general corporate law. Prior to joining Darling, Bergstrom &
Milligan, Ms. Burleson served as counsel and Assistant Secretary
to Mail Well (now Cenveo), a NYSE traded publishing and manufacturing
company. At Mail Well, in addition to other legal responsibilities,
she managed all legal and business aspects of the company’s
real property, which included approximately 150 different properties
encompassing over 8 million square feet of space.
After graduating third in her class from the University
of Denver College of Law, Ms. Burleson practiced with a medium sized
Denver firm and a premier national law firm before becoming a shareholder
of a small firm. Subsequently, she worked in the legal department
of several corporations. Her private practice focused on general
corporate law, real estate, and litigation. Ms. Burleson specialized
for many years in bankruptcy law, representing creditors, business
debtors, and numerous creditors committees, guiding her clients
through complex financial issues. Her experience in state and federal
courts earned her a long-range perspective which is invaluable in
her current transactional practice. Her broad practical experience
enables her to understand real world issues faced by businesses
in today’s fast paced, competitive environment.
Ms. Burleson is married to an attorney and enjoys
the art of fusing glass as an avocation.

Supreme Court 1992) (leading Colorado case on deceptive trade
practices, punitive damages).

of jury verdict; Issues included guaranty, fraud, election of
remedies, equitable mortgage, lis pendens and trade name infringement)
